JORDAN DAVIS RELEASES NEW STUDIO ALBUM “LEARN THE HARD WAY” (AUDIO CUT X CUT)

Jordan Davis | Learn The Hard Way – Album Art

Multi-platinum award-winning singer/songwriter Jordan Davis today released his highly anticipated third album, Learn The Hard Way, via MCA. Hailed as a “modern-day storyteller” (Billboard), Davis has amassed over 8.4 billion career streams, earned multiple CMA and ACM Awards – including “Song of the Year” for two different songs off of one album – and solidified his place as one of country music’s most consistent hitmakers (CountryLine). “One of the leading talents in a new wave of American country music” (BBC), Davis continues to earn accolades for his ability to crystallize life’s moments in song, with Taste of Country noting “it’s the way he summarizes life, love, family…so anyone…can be excused for feeling a bit breathless by the time he finishes.” Learn The Hard Way includes the No. 1 hit – his 8th career chart-topping international smash – “I Ain’t Sayin’,” as well as Davis’ current Top 10 single “Bar None,” the critically acclaimed track “Turn This Truck Around,” that garnered rave reviews that “this man never disappoints,” (MusicRow) and a selection as Disc of the Week. Listen to Learn The Hard Way here.

Jordan Davis – Naming The Album Learn The Hard Way (AUDIO)
“Well, the reason why it’s called Learn The Hard Way has been, I think balance with me has always been something that I’ve kind of struggled with and then, especially when things started going well in music, you you want to go out there and you want to play shows and you kind of want to capitalize on that. And then you also want to be a good dad and a good husband and be able to kind of really juggle those two worlds. I think subconsciously a lot of these songs are about that, whether it be about losing a relationship, I think it kind of goes to show you where I was in a headspace in that. So when I heard Learn the Hard Way, it kind of made all that come together.”

Learn The Hard Way, Davis’ third full-length album, has been featured by “Live with Kelly and Mark,” “CBS Mornings,” BillboardEntertainment Tonight, and more. Last night, Davis also took the stage at “Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!” to perform “Bar None” and will next head to “TODAY” (8/21) and “Fox & Friends” (8/22) for additional appearances. Learn The Hard Way follows the chart-topping success of Davis’ Platinum-certified debut album Home State and his Platinum-selling sophomore project Bluebird Days, which produced four consecutive No. 1 singles—“What My World Spins Around,” “Tucson Too Late,” “Buy Dirt,” and “Next Thing You Know”—and made history as the first album to feature two songs that went on to win Song of the Year- the 5X Platinum hit “Buy Dirt” (CMA and NSAI) and 3X Platinum hit “Next Thing You Know” (ACM).

His global Ain’t Enough Road headlining tour, launching in the US September 11th in Greater Palm Springs, CA, will make stops at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre (9/18), New York City’s Radio City Music Hall (10/2), Red Rocks in Denver (9/24), and more before heading to Europe. AUDIO CUT X CUT:

TRACK 01: Jordan Davis – “Her Way or The Highway” (AUDIO)
“‘Her Way of the Highway’ was actually the last song we wrote for this record, which is funny because it ended up being the first song off this album, but one of my favorites, and I hope y’all dig it.”
TRACK 02: Jordan Davis – “Bar None” (AUDIO)
“‘Bar None’ is a song that was sent to me, a song that truly from the demo just kind of stood out as different right off the bat. It kind of pulled me in, something I wanted to hear more of. Glad we cut it, love the way it turned out. I think it’s something that’s a little different from me, but something I’m excited about to play live.”
TRACK 03: Jordan Davis – “Mess With Missin’ You” with Carly Pearce (AUDIO)
“‘Mess With Missing You’ is a song that I wrote with three of my best friends here in town. And from the second we wrote it, we had Carly in mind. Carly is one of my oldest friends in Nashville. So being able to have a song out with her is something that I’ve been looking forward to.”

TRACK 04: Jordan Davis – “In Case You Missed It” (AUDIO)
“This song is one I wrote with my brother Jacob, my producer Paul DiGiovanni, and my good buddy Travis Wood. This is a title I’ve been wanting to write for a long time. I hope I didn’t screw it up and I hope you are loving it.” Thank you all so much and we’ll see you all soon. In Case You Missed It is a song I wrote, kind of the same co-writers are with a lot. My brother, my producer, and Travis Wood, I’ve been wanting to write this title for a long time. Finally got a chance one day to sit down with them and came up with a song about missing something you want back. Hope y’all like it. Thank y’all so much for listening and we’ll see y’all soon.”
TRACK 05: Jordan Davis – “Ain’t Enough Road” (AUDIO)
“‘Ain’t Enough Road’ is just, I mean, one of my favorite songs off the record. It’s something that I think about every tour. I wish that there was a few more dates, and I think this song sums it up perfectly.”
TRACK 06: Jordan Davis – “Son Of A Gun” (AUDIO)
“‘Son of a Gun’ is a song that I wrote really about my middle boy, Lachlan. He’s just like me. He’s probably gonna give me a lot of headache in the future, but I love him to death and definitely one that stands out on this record.”
TRACK 07: Jordan Davis – “Jesus Wouldn’t Do” (AUDIO)
“‘Jesus Wouldn’t Do’ is a song, man, I just feel like if I could go back and play this song for myself in my high school and college years, I would be a lot better off. But probably my favorite song off this record.”
TRACK 08: Jordan Davis – “Learn The Hard Way” (AUDIO)
“Learn The Hard Way,’ I mean, it’s the title track of this record. I feel like I’ve learned a lot of things in my life the hard way. If I could go back and change it, I would. But I feel like I’m where I’m at now because of those lessons, and this song sums that up perfectly.”
TRACK 09: Jordan Davis – “I Ain’t Sayin'” (AUDIO)
“‘I Ain’t Saying’ is a song about a relationship that you see happening. I feel like I’ve kind of noticed this here in the past couple years and some people that I’m close with, they’re in a relationship that maybe they’re in it just to be in it. You know that who they’re with is not the right one. You don’t have a better option for them. You’re kind of just saying, ‘it’s not that guy.’”
TRACK 10: Jordan Davis – “Good Gone Bad” (AUDIO)
“‘Good Gone Bad,’ man, this is a song that just felt good the day we wrote it. I can’t wait to play this one live. Definitely something that I feel like I haven’t done before. And I hope y’all hear that as well.”
TRACK 11: Jordan Davis – “Memory Don’t Mess Around” (AUDIO)
“‘Memory Don’t Mess Around’ is one that I wrote with my brother and the Jenkins brothers. I mean, my oldest co-writing team in town. Man, this song just feels, it feels different. It felt perfect for this record. And I hope y’all dig it.”
TRACK 12: Jordan Davis – “Keeping The World Away” (AUDIO)
“‘Keeping the World Away’ is a song that I kind of have to remind myself anytime I spend too much time on my phone, my wife tells me to put the world down. And I saved that idea on my phone one day, and what came of it was ‘Keeping the World Away.’”
TRACK 13: Jordan Davis – “Know You Like That” (AUDIO)
“‘Know You Like That’ is one of the few outside songs that I cut on this next project. Man, the hook of this song just really, from the second I heard it, just grabbed me. I thought that they did just an amazing job writing this. And it just feels like one of those classic nostalgic country songs.”
TRACK 14: Jordan Davis – “Only All The Time” (AUDIO)
“‘Only All The Time.’ This is a song that just, I mean, I would sum it up as just a groove. This song, from the second we started working on this one, I knew it had a place on this record and definitely one of my favorites to play out live.“
TRACK 15: Jordan Davis – “Turn This Truck Around” (AUDIO)
“‘Turn This Truck Around,’ I was able to kind of get into my Southern rock feels. Man, probably my favorite song off this album. I just feel like we haven’t done anything like this, and I feel like you’re all gonna hear that.”
TRACK 16: Jordan Davis – “Louisiana Stick” with Marcus King (AUDIO)
‘“Louisiana Stick’ is a song that a lot of people don’t know this. My nickname in high school was Stick Figure. And I’d always had an idea of writing a song called ‘Louisiana Stick.’ And I was able to kind of capture this one day on a writer’s retreat. And then, and one of my favorite people out there, Marcus King, when he got on it, it just kind of took it to the next level. And this is a song I’ve been trying to write for a long time. Never thought in a million years that I would have Marcus King on it, but really pumped for y’all to hear this one.”
TRACK 16: Jordan Davis – Muddy The Water (AUDIO)
“‘Muddy the Water’ is a song that I think caps this record off perfectly and a song that means a lot to me and I really hope that this really puts a bow on this record.”
